24 Hour Run Raises Record Amount

Saturday, March 10 2012 - 24 Hour Run

For the 2012 24 Hour Run, the boy’s and girl’s track team raised $28,200 for the Leukemia Research Foundation, surpassing the previous record of $26,000 set in 2010. From all of us on the track team, we’d like to express how honored we feel to have fundraised and ran for such a noble cause. Please take a moment to read about the Leukemia Research Foundation and learn how they will use the money raised through HPHS’s Charity Drive in order to help the patients and families of those struggling with leukemia, lymphoma, and myelodysplastic syndromes.

Great job to all that participated and supported the event.   243 miles ran and $28,200 raised is awesome!   Amazing effort by all, especially our organizers, junior Emmett Smith and senior Ari Feldman.

All of us who have been touched by Leukemia and related blood disorders are truly grateful and thankful to the runners of the HP Track and Cross Country Teams as well as those members of other teams who participated in the 24 hour run. I recall last year when our son Chase ran at 2:00 a.m. with the football team.I couldn't believe anyone would have that kind of energy at that hour! You kids are terrific and it makes us proud to be members of the HPHS community. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for a job well done! Jill and Tim Cunniff and family
