HP Alumni Running Well

Eastern Illinois University runner Matt Black (HP class of  2009) has been having a very strong indoor season.  On December 9^th at the EIU Early Bird Meet, Matt ran the 3000 meter race in 8:51.31 to finish in 5^th place.  He also ran around 55 for a leg of the 4X400 meter relay.  At the John  Craft Invite on January 21st, Matt finished 5^th in the mile with a time of 4:25.59.  His best race of the indoor season so far came at the Indiana Relays on January 27^th.    Matt was racing in the men’s 3000 meter run and was running a solid race when he made a big move about 550 meters to go past a group of runners.   He was able to finish in second place in his heat and 8^th overall in the event with a time of 8:42.79.   Matt later ran in the DMR with a 3:13 for the 1200 meter leg.

Indiana Relays Results / Video

On January 21^st, Ben Swerdlow (HP Class of 2009) of Cornell College ran the 3000 meter run at the Cornell Indoor Invite.  He ran 9:44.3 to finish in 6^th place.   At the Hilltop Invitational on February 3^rd, Ben ran the mile in 4:54.22 for 20^th place.

Washington University runner Mike Boughdiri (HP Class of 2009) competed in the Illinois Wesleyan Triangular on January 21^st.  He ran 2:04.65 to finish in 4^th place for the 800 meter run.   He also ran the mile in 4:42.44 for 11^th place.  At the Bob Keck Invitational on February 4^th Mike ran the 800 meter run in 2:00.74 to finish in 15^th place.
