The Vernon Hills High School Track has eight 42” lanes surfaced with a full-pour Recortan polyurethane system; this is the same surface used in the NCAA Championships, the U.S. Olympic Trials, and the Olympic Games. The pole vault runway extends north/south with a box and pits at both ends. Long and triple jump pits are located at the north end of the stadium and can be contested in either the east or west direction. Triple jump takeoff boards are painted at 20’, 24’, 28’, 32’, 36’, and 40’. Long jump boards are 8” wide with 135’ runways. Shot and discus pads have concrete recessed rings and are located on the west side of the stadium. ¼” or less spikes only on all running surfaces.
