2020 IHSA Class 3A Fox Lake (Grant) Regional Meet

Course: Red flags denote a left turn, yellow flags denote a right turn, and blue flags denote a straight ahead. The course will be double lined and single lined with natural barriers in open areas until entering/exiting the back loop of the course. Runners are expected to remain within these boundaries.
Parking: Buses will drop off athletes at the Bulldog Athletic Complex and park on site in the case of severe weather.
Team Packets: Upon arrival, team packets can be picked up near the finish line. In your team packets, there will be bibs for each of the 8 members of your roster that must be worn by the 7 runners competing. The bibs will contain the chip and will assist in the video review process.
Games Committee: The games committee shall be headed by the Meet Referee, Clerk/Starter, Tom Ross and consist of all head coaches from the competing schools.
Scoring: Timing will be done by Illinois Prep Top Timing (ilpreptoptiming.com). Per IHSA guidelines, the Meet Referee will review the video of the finish to facilitate accurate scoring of each race. Once results from all flights have been merged together, results will be uploaded to Athletic.net. Results will be posted for at least 15 minutes before distributing team awards.

8:30am Girls Coaches Meeting at Finish Line
9:00am Girls Flight 1 (#1, #2, and #3 Runners)
9:45am Girls Flight 2 (#4 and #5 Runners)
10:30am Girls Flight 3 (#6 and #7 Runners)
11:00am Boys Coaches Meeting at Finish Line
11:30am Boys Flight 1 (#1, #2, and #3 Runners)
12:15pm Boys Flight 2 (#4 and #5 Runners)
1:00pm Boys Flight 3 (#6 and #7 Runners)
Awards: 1st Place Team Plaque
1st-5th Place Individual Medals
After races results have been posted for at least 15 minutes, coaches can pick these awards up near the finish line.
Advancement: The top 5 teams and the top 5 runners who are not members of the advancing teams will advance to the Hoffman Estates Sectional on Saturday, October 31st. In the event the 6th, 7th, or 8th Place finisher is not on a qualifying team, those individuals will advance to the Sectional as well.
Team Camps: Each team will be assigned a team camp area. These areas will correspond to your starting box numbers. There will be at least 30 feet separating team areas. Athletes should be in their team area unless being called to the start line for their race or warming up and cooling down.
Once Girls Flight 1 starts, no other athletes will be allowed on the course. Athletes can warm-up and cool-down on the running path along Molidor Rd. and at Field of Dreams which is west of our property. After Girls Flight 3, there may be a small window of time for Boys Flight 1 runners to get on the course. Once Boys Flight 1 starts, no other athletes will be allowed on the course.
Severe Weather: In the case of severe weather, buses will be allowed on-site where we can relocate athletes for their safety.
Spectator Passes: We are allowing spectators at the event. Each runner will receive 2 spectator passes for household members. Spectator passes and our spectator policy will be passed out to the teams on the day you practice on the course. Teams not practicing on the course will have their spectator passes mailed to them.
Athletic Trainers: Certified Athletic Trainers will be on site and available for your runners. The trainers will be located east of the finish line under a Grant Bulldog tent.
Expectations and Protocols:
- Please remind athletes to be in masks while not engaging in physical activity (warm up/ racing/ cool down)
- Coaches should be in masks at all times.
- Programs are responsible to monitor their athletes while warming up, cooling down and in the team camp area.
- Coaches and competing athletes are the only individuals allowed on the course. Visiting Admin will be provided a safe viewing area away from the course just east of the finish line.
- Remind runners who are finished competing to remain off of the course. Runners can warm-up or cool down on the bike path at the north end of the complex or in the Field of Dreams Grant Township Park to the west of the complex.
T-Shirts: You can pre-order IHSA Grant Regional short sleeve or long sleeve shirts. Teams can pick up their pre-ordered shirts near the finish line when they arrive.
