Cross Country Team Takes 2nd Place At Lake County
Wednesday, September 1 2010 - Lake County Cross Country InvitationalThe Highland Park High School Boys Cross Country Team took 2nd place at the Lake County Invite hosted by Waukegan High School. Barrington won the meet with 59 points, Highland Park was 2nd with 95 points, and Stevenson finished in third with 98 points.
The team was led by senior Ari Rothschild. He finished the three mile race in 15:45.0 for 4th place. The team's number two runner was sophomore Jonah Hanig in 19th place with a time of 16:36.4. Sophomore Emmett Smith was the next Highland Park runner. This was his first varsity race and he finished in 21st place with a time of 16:43.6. Junior Ian Jacobs ran in the number 4 spot finishing in 22nd place with a time of 16:45.0. Rounding out the team's top five was Junior Ari Feldman in his first ever cross country race. He finished in 29th place with a time of 17:00.2
It was a nice opener for the team, but each man knows he has to continue to improve to reach the goals the team has set for this season!
