Hurdlers Lead The Way At Frosh CSL Invite

The Frosh CSL Meet is a chance to highlight the future stars of the track & field program. The Giants are looking to build on the talent that they currently have.

 

One of the big strengths of the freshmen Giants are the hurdlers. In the 50 Yard High Hurdles, Mateusz Zubrzycki took second finishing in 8.8 and Peter Soutsos took 5th clocking a 9.3. The duo came back and did well in the 50 Yard Low Hurdles as well. Zubrzycki finished 3rd with an 8.25 and Soutsos was 4th in 8.6.

 

Alejandro Seiden ran a strong race in the 800 Meter Run and came across the line in 3rd place.

 

Hunter Kells finished in 4th place in the 3200 Meter Run.

 

In the sprints, Mesfin Radtke came in 5th in the 200 Meter Dash (28.2), Jack Goldfeder was 5th in the 50 Yard Dash (6.5), Parker Connor finished 6th in the 400 Meter Dash (1:08.9). The 4X160 Meter Relay team of Caden Veltman, Radtke, Goldfeder, and Jaylen Myles were 4th place in 1:29.5.

 

The field events is an area that the team will need significant improvement to become a championship level team. Thomas Marquardt was able to take 5th in the Shot Put with a 26’8” mark.

 

With commited hard work and increased participation on the team, the freshmen will look to improve this season and over the years.
