Schaumburg High School - Schaumburg , IL -- Busse Woods Forest Preserve
Busse Woods is located south and east of the Higgins Rd (Rt.72) exit off of 290/Rt.53.
Girls Race 10:00 A.M.
Boys Race 11:15 A.M.
1st Team will receive Sectional Trophy and 1st – 10th individuals will receive medals.1st – 10th place Individuals (auto-qualify). Top 5 teams and top 7 individuals not on those qualifying teams.
The course is 3 miles and is doubled lined, the lines are a guide. The entire course will be roped off; spectators are to remain outside the rope.
On race day course can be used up until the start of the girls’ race. Boys may go back onto the course at the conclusion of the girls race.
Each team and individual will be assigned a numbered starting box based on a blind draw. Starting box assignments will be in your team envelope. A clock located at the finish area will count down the time until the race starts. There will be PA announcements 15 minutes and 5 minutes before the start. runners should be at the start line 15 minutes before the start for final check-in. The starter will be on a ladder behind the start line. When all runners are at the line a whistle will sound to indicate the command set. When all runners are set the gun will sound. If any runner goes down during the first 100 yards of the race a recall will sound.
Each athlete will be assigned a bib number that will be worn on the front of the singlet. The timing chip is attached to the bib number. There will be a visual recording of bib numbers and a video from two angles. The official result is the torso and video reviewed by meet referee. The chip is for timing purposes.
Results will be posted after the starter/referee has evaluated and approved their accuracy. Results will be online through the IHSA website and www.chicagoaa.com
Race officials and athletes that have completed their race are allowed in the finish area.
All competitors should dress at home. There will be portable toilets available. It is recommended that you bring your own drinking water. The forest preserve wells may or may not be open.
Certified Athletic Trainers will be available. The first aid table will be located at the finish line.
Please tell your driver to pull into grove 17, they will be directed to drive around the circle and back into a parking spot.
There is limited parking available at the top of the course. Parking is available throughout the groves, please be prepared to walk. There is no parking allowed on the grass or Higgins Road. Parking is available at Streets of Woodfield.
