2021 CSL Conference Championship Meet hosted by Maine East High School 

Schools: 

Deerfield, Evanston, Glenbrook North, Glenbrook South, Highland Park, Maine East, Maine South, Maine West, New Trier, Niles North, Niles West, Vernon Hills 

Race Date: Saturday, October 16th, 2021

Course: 

Our courses have a similar outline for the 2.0 and 3.0 mile races. Please see maps included. We run over a variety of surfaces, including grass, dirt, crushed stone paths, and the track– all of them spike friendly (no spikes larger than ⅜” allowed). Please print and bring copies of the map as needed. The course will be well marked with flags and painted lines. 

The course will NOT be open for practice in the week leading up to the Conference Championship. Dogs are NOT allowed on campus. 

Team Camps: 

The CSL South Teams should set up Camps at the south-west fields of the campus, while the CSL North Teams should set up camps in the softball fields near the stadium adjacent to the course (SEE MAP). Runners in upcoming races will have to cross the course to get to the starting line. Please advise them to do so carefully. It is recommended they get to the starting line 20 minutes ahead of race time to avoid getting stuck by racer traffic. Once the first race has started, the course is off limits for warm-ups and cool-downs. 

Restrooms: 

There are bathrooms available in the stadium and we will have some portable toilets near the team camps. Only in the event of severe weather will athletes be allowed inside the building. Please come dressed and ready to run.

Scoring: 

Runner’s Edge Race Timing will be providing the timing and scoring for the event. Chip timing will be used. For those races that use reusable chips, unreturned timing chips billed at $10.00 each and will be billed to the school responsible. 

Results will be available at the conclusion of the meet and will be uploaded onto athletic.net 

Schedule: Per conference guidelines, we will follow the time schedule below: 

8:00 Head Coach’s Meeting at 50 yard line of stadium 

8:30 Girls Open Unlimited all classes 2.0 miles 

9:00 Boys Frosh Unlimited Freshman 2.0 miles 

9:30 Girls Varsity 7 entries 3.0 miles 

10:00 Boys Varsity 7 entries 3.0 miles 

10:30 Girls JV Unlimited all classes 3.0 miles 

11:00 Boys Soph Unlimited so and fr 3.0 miles 

11:30 Girls Fr/soph Unlimited fr and soph 3.0 miles 

12:00 Boys JV Unlimited all classes 3.0 miles

Awards: 

We will hold the awards ceremony shortly after the conclusion of the last race. Trophies will be presented to the Boys and Girls champions from the CSL North and South. Varsity runners who earn All-Conference honors will be presented their medals at this time. 

The Conference Champion teams will be determined from adding the number of victories from the dual races to the number of teams within the division beaten in the Conference Championship race. All-Conference runners will be determined by the top 14 places in the Championship race for boys and girls in the 

CSL North and CSL South. Top 14 runners from non-varsity races will be given ribbons that coaches can pick up in an envelope at the conclusion of the meet. 

The awards ceremony will take place in the stadium grandstands. 

Parking: 

Please direct your team bus to the main entrance to the school once your team has been dropped off. (See map for details.) 

T-shirts: A limited number of CSL Conference T-shirts will be available for purchase on site. $20 per shirt. Pre-ordered T-shirts will be given to coaches to distribute. If an athlete did not put their school on their order, it will be that athletes responsibility to pick up their pre-order from the T-shirt sales table, please bring receipt or ID. 

Inclement Weather Location: 

In the case of inclement weather, please direct your athletes to your buses. Buses will be lined up along the main drive into the school campus.
