RACE SITE:

Vernon Hills Athletic Complex

STUDENT DROP OFF/TEAM AREAS:

Please drop off all student athletes in the North Lot. Students should be dressed and ready to participate when they arrive with their own water bottle. Teams will report directly to their Team Area. (Stevenson Areas 1/2 , Highland Park Areas 3/4 , and Grant 5/6) 

**Spectators must stay on the outside of the loop and will NOT be allowed near the Team Areas, Start and Finish Lines. Spectators must be wearing masks and maintain 6ft social distancing or they will be asked to leave.

WARM-UP ZONE(NO SPIKES):

There is a paved path on the east side of the course that goes along Fairway Dr. and wraps in a circle around the pond where it says ‘Murphy Packaging’ on the map. You may also use the baseball and softball fields. During warm-ups, please maintain social distancing between your teammates and others that may be warming up on the path.

LINEUP FOR RACE START:

Each coach must assign a start number to each participant(MAX 14 per Race). This start number is what we will use to get the runner’s final time at the end. Each team will have a 15 foot start line for their 14 runners, with 6 ft. between teams. Runners will be socially distanced until 20-seconds before the race, where the official will call all runners to the line.

RACE FINISH:

After you go through the finish line, you will be handed a note card with your finish number on it. You will then take the sticker you received at the beginning of the race, and stick it on the note card(if your sticker falls off you will put S5, HP5 or G5 depending on your school). Once you put your sticker on the notecard, you will then drop it in the bucket at the finish line. Please bring water to the finish line before the start of the race, as the team areas are not directly by the finish.

9:30 AM* JV2 Race Starts

GIRLS

10:25 AM Varsity teams report to the start area with their sticker numbers

SCHOOL/STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Visiting school is responsible for verifying each participant has went through the COVID screening process, with temperature check

-When you are not racing or warming up, you must wear a mask

-You must keep a 6 foot social distance at all times

-Stay in your team zone, except for the following

*You are racing

*You are warming up

*You are using the bathroom

-Each athlete should bring enough water for the race
