Fast Times At Peoria Woodruff Meet
Sunday, September 11 2011 - Peoria Woodruff Cross Country InviteWith great racing conditions on a fast course, the Highland Park High School boys cross country team members were looking to run some fast times. The Giants did just that. The teams top 3 were all looking to place higher up in the race, but were able to produce all-time personal bests for 3 miles. Junior Jonah Hanig faded slightly in the last mile but still ran an outstanding 15:23 to place 27th. Junior Emmett Smith continues to run fast times and medal at these large competitive invites running 15:37 for 41st place. Senior and team captain Ari Feldman ran his race plan nearly to perfection, running 16:00 and placing 69th. The next fastest times were turned in by junior Luke Nudelman (16:28 open race), senior Dodge Brown (16:45), sophomore Angel Estrada (16:48), senior Marc Brenner (17:13), freshmen Ben Casey (17:31 open race), and sophomore Josh Lidawer (17:51 open race).
The team finished in 16th place out of 37 teams. The winner was fellow CSL team Niles North.
