Krauss places 120th at NCAA Division III Cross Country Meet
Saturday, November 21 2009 - Dan KraussGrinnell College's Dan Krauss '12 (HP Class of 2008) wrapped up a stellar 2009 cross country campaign by finishing 120th at the NCAA Division III National Championship Saturday in Cleveland, Ohio.
Krauss ran the 8 kilometer race, which included 276 runners, in 26 minutes, 51.4 seconds. The men's individual champ was Ricky Flynn of Lynchburg, who finished in 25:09.8. North Central won the men's team title.
Krauss qualified for the NCAA Championships after placing 13th at last week's regional meet at Oakland Acres Golf Course. Highlights from his season included a Midwest Conference individual title while leading the Pioneers to the team crown, and running the third-best time in program history when he recorded a clocking of 24:43.5 at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational.
