2015 24 Hour Run Brings In Record Donation

Friday, March 13 2015 - 24 Hour Run

The 2015 24 Hour Run was another huge success for the boys and girls track & field teams at Highland Park High School.

During the run the participants ran a total of 219 miles!   As always, the main goal of the event is to raise money for the HPHS Charity Drive.   This year's charity was Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation.  The 24 Hour Run brought in a record $28,500!    This was possible due to the incredible work done by the coordinators, senior Dylan Kahn and junior Joe Pinsky from the boys team as well as senior Katie Hull and junior Charlotte  Nawor on the girls team.  The coordinators efforts along with everyone that participated in the run and those that collected donations make this event such a success each year.

The 24 Hour Run has been a tremendous display of teamwork while doing something for others.   Since the event started in 2006, 2,342 miles have been run and $218,218.00 has been donated to numerous charities.  This is a very proud tradition for the track & field team that we look forward to doing each year.
