2017 CSL Conference Championship Meet hosted by Vernon Hills High School
Race? ?Date: Saturday, October 14, 2017 Location: Vernon Hills High School Athletic Complex 145 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills, IL 60061
Packets: Coaches may pick up their packets at the ticket booth at the stadium entrance upon arrival. Starting boxes will be pre-assigned by a random drawing and noted in the packet.
Chip? ?Return:? All athletes will be assigned a shoe chip that must be returned after their race. Coaches should collect all chips and return them to the ticket booth.
Course: Course maps are attached. The course is located on the Vernon Hills Athletic Complex. The course is flat and the running surface is grass. The 2-mile course consists of one large loop around the north and south sections of the complex followed by one loop around the north section before finishing on the soccer field north of the stadium. The 3-mile course consists of one large loop, a second loop around the south section, and then straight to the finish. The start, 1-mile mark, and finish are the same for both distances. Athletes will cross a section of road between the north and south sections of the course. The pavement will be covered by an outdoor runway. Spikes are allowed. The course will not be open for practice prior to the conference meet.
Schedule: 8:00 AM – Coaches’ Meeting (at Finish Line corral area)
8:30 AM – Open Girls (Unlimited), 2 miles
9:00 AM – Freshman Boys (Unlimited), 2 miles
9:30 AM – Varsity Girls (7 runners), 3 miles
10:00 AM – Varsity Boys (7 runners), 3 miles
10:30 AM – JV Girls (Unlimited), 3 miles
11:00 AM – Sophomore Boys (Unlimited), 3 miles
11:30 AM – Frosh/Soph Girls (Unlimited), 3 miles
12:00 PM – JV Boys (Unlimited), 3 miles
Results will be posted as soon as possible after each race on the stadium side of the ticket booth. The awards ceremony will take place in the stadium after the last race.
Varsity? ?Races;? a team trophy will be awarded to the winner of each division (North/South) based on dual meet results and conference meet results. The top 14 finishers in each division will receive an individual medal. The varsity awards will be presented during the awards ceremony in the stadium.
In the event of bad weather, the awards ceremony will take place in the lobby at VHHS. Lower? ?Level? ?Races;? awards for the lower level races will be placed in an envelope for coaches to pick up at the ticket booth at the conclusion of the meet.
Parking: See attached map. Buses should the enter the facility at the north intersection of Fairway Drive and Nike Parkway. Athletes should be dropped off in front of the tennis courts. Buses will be directed to park in the BD parking lot. Spectator parking is available in the parking lots surrounding the complex. See attached map.
T-Shirts: CSL Conference t-shirts were pre-ordered. You may pick up your pre-ordered team shirts at the ticket booth. A limited number of t-shirts will be for sale at the meet.
Concessions: The concessions stand is located in the stadium..
Tents: Team tents can be set up inside the stadium on the grass areas surrounding the track and in the field outside the track. Stakes are not permitted in either location.
Restrooms: Restrooms are located next to the concession stand. Portable restrooms will also be located in several areas around the facility.
Dogs: Dogs must be kept on a leash in accordance with village leash laws and dog owners must clean up after their dog.
