ORDER & DESCRIPTION OF EVENTS

FIELD EVENTS?-?Each school can enter 4 competitors in each event. The top 3 competitors’ best marks will be combined to create the team’s relay score and determine place.

ALL Field Events Start at 1:00PM? - Note the time change due to the writing portion of the ACT.

  1. Pole Vault:? Starting height 7' 7”, 6" until 13'1”, then 3"

  2. High Jump:? Starting height 5'1, 2" until 6'3, then 1"

  3. Long Jump: ? Four jumps -No Finals, Flight 1 then Flight 2

  4. Triple Jump:? Same as long jump. Run concurrently Flight 1 then Flight 2

  5. Shot Put: ? Four throws - No Finals Flight 1 followed by Flight 2

  6. Discus:? Same as Shot Put Flight 1 followed by Flight 2

*Starting Heights & Height progressions may be altered based on seed marks at the discretion of the Head Field Judge.

 

 

 

Track Events Start at 1:30PM - Note the time change due to the writing portion of the ACT.

1. 300 Meter Intermediate Hurdles ?(4X 300 IH)
(Place your slowest hurdler in the first heat and the fastest in the last heat)

Each team must enter one hurdler in each of the four heats. Team places will be determined by adding up the four places and the school with the lowest total points will be awarded first, second to the second lowest, etc. In case of a tie, the most points will be awarded to the team who has the best finisher in the fourth heat (fast heat). All four hurdlers must finish to be awarded points. All incomplete teams will be eliminated when determining place totals. Incomplete teams are only competing for times and the extra awards. Green Start

  1. 6400 Meter Relay

    4 x 1600, Olympic Curve, exchange green.

  2. Frosh-Soph 400 Meter Relay

    4 x 100 meters, lanes all the way, yellow & yellow.

  3. Varsity 400 Meter Relay

    4 x 100 meters, lanes all the way, yellow & yellow.

  4. 3200 Meter Medley Relay

    400-400-800-1600 meters, lanes for the first leg, yellow start, green exchange.

  5. 440 Meter High Hurdle Relay(4X110 HH)

    Same as 300 Meter Intermediate Hurdles – see #1.

  6. Frosh-Soph 1600 Meter Medley Relay(FS-MDMR)

    200-200-400-800 meters, first two legs will run in lanes, yellow exchange until 400, green exchange.

  7. Varsity 1600 Meter Medley Relay(V-MDMR)

    200-200-400-800 meters, first two legs will run in lanes, yellow exchange until 400, green exchange.

  8. Frosh-Soph 800 Meter Medley Relay(FS-SMR)

    100-100-200-400 meters, run in lanes the first three legs, yellow line + yellow exchange, 4t? h? leg green.

 
  1. Varsity 800 Meter Medley Relay(V-SMR)

    100-100-200-400 meters, run in lanes the first three legs, yellow line + yellow exchange, 4t? h? leg green.

  2. Frosh-Soph 4000 Meter Medley Relay(FS-DMR)

    400-800-1200-1600, first leg will run in lanes, green exchange + yellow start.

  3. Varsity 4000 Meter Medley Relay(V-DMR)

    400-800-1200-1600, first leg will run in lanes, green exchange + yellow start.

  4. 800 Meter Relay

    4 x 200 meters, lanes all the way, black exchange 1 + 2, 3rd exchange yellow.

  5. 3200 Meter Relay

    4 x 800 meters, Olympic Curve, green exchange

?15. Frosh-Soph 1600 Meter Relay
      4 x 400 meters, 3 turn stagger blue-green

16. Varsity 1600 Meter Relay

      4 x 400 meters, 3 turn stagger blue-green

 

TIES

Any tie in the Field Events will be broken by giving the better place to the team that has the best individual mark. With ties in the track events, the points will be added and divided equally and the awards decided upon the flip of a coin. In case of a tie for the team trophy, it will be awarded to the team with the most 1st place finishes, and if necessary, second place finishes, etc.

FROSH-SOPH EVENTS

Must be a freshmen or sophomore to be in the event. Athletes may run Varsity & F/S in different events this meet.

FACILITIES

TRACK FACILITIES AND SCORING

• ?Track and jump runways?: All weather red synthetic track. • ?Starting blocks? will be provided.
• ?Maximum allowable length of spikes? 1⁄4”.
• ?Shot Put and Discus ?will be thrown adjacent to track.

• ?Dressing facilities?: no locker rooms will be available.
• ?Washrooms?: Portable restrooms adjacent to track.
• ?School Building?: Off limits to athletes.
• ?Trainer ?will be in the garage adjacent to the concession stand at north end of track.
